John E. Reid and

present the Fifth Annual Reid Conference for Investigative
Training. The conference is open to investigators from the
private, police and government sectors and features a
variety of topics that will add to the investigative skills
of all the participants. The featured speakers are
recognized experts in their respective fields of training.
This year's topics include:
Techniques of Rapport Building (Don Rabon, Manager,
Investigations center of the North Carolina Justice Academy,
North Carolina Department of Justice)
Essential Legal Issues Regarding Sexual Harassment (Mary
Boland, Assistant State’s Attorney, Appellate Division, Cook
County, Illinois)
Detecting Deception through Scientific Content Analysis (Avinoam
Sapir, Director of the Laboratory for Scientific
Interrogation)
Numerical Scoring of the Behavioral Analysis Interviews (J.
Peter Blair, Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at the
University of Texas, San Antonio)

Certification
in the Reid Technique
Reid Institute members who have attended both the Regular and
Advanced Reid Seminars on Interviewing and Interrogation and
have used the Reid Technique for a minimum of one year are
eligible to take the Reid Certification Examination. The
Certification test will be administered on November 3, 2005,
from 1 to 3:00 pm. The fee to take the certification test at the
conference is $100.00 for Reid Institute members, and $175.00
for non-members. Please indicate when registering whether you
intend to take the test.

Reid Institute Member $275.00 Non-member
$375.00
Membership fee plus tuition: $350.00
(New members also receive the Investigator Anthology textbook,
access to the Members Only website, discounts on Reid training
products, and a reduced fee for taking the Reid Certification
Test).
