FATS III Simulator Training

Since 1993, NEMRT, in conjuction with the ILETSB, began using FATS simulator training. This system is the state-of-the-art firearms training tool which trains officers in sound judgmental shooting skills.
The simulator is on of NEMRT's most popular and valuable training courses. The system allows realistic student interaction in critical shoot/don't shoot scenarios. The featured scenarios portray events and outcomes as they may actually occur in the community. Many of the scenarios will permit the instructor to change or branch from a "Shoot to a No Shoot or Less Than Lethal Force" scenario. the instructor also has the option of turning less dangerous scenarios into more deadly encounters.
To date, we have trained over a thousand officers and have a staff of 430 certified instructors. several departments have trained their K-9 untis with the simulator. Additionally, some departments have invited their mayors, aldermen, city councel members, participants in citizen police academies, and non-sworn staff to train on the FATS III, creating a bridge of understanding to law enformcement.
The popularity of this training machine is attested by the fact that there is an extensive waiting list to use the simulator. NEMRT is doing everything possible to satisfy requests.
There is no charge to our member departments for the simulator to be delivered to their departments. Non-member agencies my request to use the FATS III machine, but members receive preference. If your agency would like to utilize this valuable training tool, please contact Shelley Johnson @ ext. 115.
