This innovative one day end-user course formerly known as "New Techniques for Effective Tactical Police Baton" provides a "stand on its own" baton system and promises to provide effective techniques that can be easily learned and put into practice right away. Not only are these techniques fast, they are low profile and effective. The use of the police baton continues to be a mainstay of officer survival, crowd control, and officer defense and control. Unfortunately, many officers are not able to engage in confrontations with effective quick strikes and blocks currently taught in other systems. This course introduces techniques for overcoming long slow moves and is effectively suited to responding to multiple offender attacks. These innovations will be presented utilizing the simple and effective Modern Warrior System. Both instructors are available for offering expert testimony if needed by the department and provide an additional certificate through Modern Warrior upon completion of this course. Topics to be addressed include: - Use of Force guidelines - Kinetic principles and interruption of assault techniques - Multiple assailant defenses - Blocking, striking and trapping techniques - Opposite and strong hand use - Takedowns and what to do when knocked to the ground - Weapon Retention techniques BRING YOUR DUTY BELT AND WEAR WORKOUT ATTIRE FOR THIS CLASS. This course will be taught by retired Sgt. Bernie Hogancamp and Sgt. Craig Sline, both of the Homewood Police Department and accredited as Modern Warrior Instructors.
