This one day, 8 hour course is based upon key elements from injury prevention, weight training, and tactical movement performance drills. It will provide law enforcement practitioners and trainers with the latest methods for conditioning for on the job performance, i.e. achieving anaerobic readiness when you need it most. Concepts related to the "science of exercise" will be introduced in tactical demonstrations meant to highlight increased performance and reduce on the job injuries. Topics to be addressed in class include: - Issues specific to male officers, including lack of flexibility, muscle imbalances that cause shoulder and back injuries, and the consequences of sitting in cramped squad cars - Issues specific to female officers, including injuries to knees and the need to strengthen supporting muscle groups - "Machine Dominated" exercises to avoid - How to appropriately perform bench presses and pushups - Assessing past injuries to determine areas of vulnerability and what exercises to avoid - Practicing a Ready for Duty Warm Up regimen - Adding a long range flexibility and muscle conditioning program to your regime - Avoiding mistakes commonly found on the internet and in exercise literature This course will be taught by James Dinaso, Police Kinesiology Co.
