Adaptive Leader™ - Frontline Leadership for Police Supervisors The only thing that has ever ensured success, is CHANGE. The way people see problems is often the biggest part of the problem. This one day 8-hour class is focused on creating a better understanding and approach to law enforcement's toughest hurdle. Change. With a combined 40+ years of military leadership lessons used to establish this curriculum, this course will take you further than you’ve ever gone before on learning new ways of looking at law enforcement problems. Lead by example. That is as old an adage as supervising itself. Adaptive leaders are looked up to. They are followed without question. That’s because when a decision needs to be made, all those around know that all options will be considered. As situations change, so will the adaptive leader’s approach. The most incredible supervisors are those who adapt. Everyone knows about IQ. It’s a way to measure how intellectually smart one is. EQ, or the measure of how emotionally smart a person is, is by many accounts more important than IQ for those that strive to be great leaders. Well, ever heard of AQ? It stands for Adaptability Quotient, and we firmly believe the greatest leaders of our time have had a higher level of adaptive smarts than most anything else. With the ever-changing environment we operate in, adaptability is an absolute MUST. As law enforcement and public sector leaders, our environments change faster than the laws we uphold do. Be prepared to change your way of thinking to that of a flexible and innovative leader. Adaptability is a requirement for survival, regardless of environment. Don’t get stuck with a singular way of looking at the world. Being a leader, an adaptable one, transcends time and profession. “Because we’ve always done it this way” doesn’t live here. This course will discuss: • Leadership self-assessment and looking within. • The inevitability of change. • Adapting to new cultures, new mindsets, and new deployment strategies. • Viewing change as an opportunity, not a barrier. • The Adaptive Leader™ Approach. • Dealing with subordinates as an Adaptive Leader . • Adaptive leadership and discipline. • Adaptive leadership during critical incidents. • Aligning IQ with EQ, and EQ with AQ • External perceptions of adaptive leaders. • The contagiousness of Adaptive Leadership - Getting your bosses and subordinates alike to become adaptive. • The adaptive agency endgame. *** Cancellations for this program must be received by NEMRT 35 days prior to the start of the program in order to avoid billing. ***
