This 3 day course, presented by John E. Reid and Associates, Inc., will demonstrate to participants the need to go beyond basic questions of who, what, where, when, and how when conducting an interview or interrogation of a suspect. In addition, students will learn more than 20 Reid Behavior Provoking questions which will assist the investigator in identifying guilty suspects and eliminating the innocent from further scrutiny. Topics of focus include: - Direct positive confrontation - Theme development - Handling denials - Overcoming objections - Procuring and retaining the suspect's attention - Handling the suspect's passive mood - Presenting alternative questions - Detailing the offense - Elements of oral and written statements **The subject matter of this course falls within the key training guidelines for the in-service training requirements for Lead Homicide Investigator.** This course has been certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board and is not reimbursable by the ILETSB. ** Cancellations for this program must be received by NEMRT 35 days prior to the start of the class in order to avoid being billed.
