This three day, 24 hour course, formerly entitled "Problem Solving/Advanced Cadaver Search & Recovery for Police Canine Teams," is designed to reinforce the principles of the basic cadaver course and enhance the canine team's abilities by teaching search and recovery of human remains in water and surrounding areas. COURSE PREREQUISITES: This course is offered for currently sworn law enforcement teams who have completed a basic canine course and the Canine Course #1: Basic Cadaver Land Recovery. The handler must be comfortable in and around water and the canine must know how to swim. PLEASE NOTE: A minimum of 3 officers must be pre-registered for this program, otherwise it will be canceled. **The subject matter of this course falls within the key training guidelines for the in-service training requirements for Lead Homicide Investigator.** This course has been certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board. Please note it is not reimbursable by the ILETSB. ** Cancellations must be received by NEMRT 35 days prior to the start of this course in order to avoid being billed.
