In today's culture, increasing awareness of mixed martial arts techniques is having a direct impact upon what officers are likely to face during ground altercations. It is known that 90% of fights go to the ground and officers must be prepared for resistive persons who wish to assault them with these techniques. This two day course has been designed specifically for police officers and will introduce them to simple and effective ground fighting countermaneuvers, including: - Controlling positions - Submission moves - Weapon retention - Take downs - Handcuffing skills PLEASE NOTE: Officers are required to wear workout clothing and should also bring their duty belt to class. NO AMMO OR FIREARMS WILL BE ALLOWED INTO THE TRAINING FACILITY. Students must sign waivers on site in order to participate and attend. This course has been certified through the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board. It is not reimbursable by ILETSB.
