This is the second course in a three-part series of cyber terrorism classes provided by Mr. Hale Guyer. It builds upon skills and techniques presented in the Basic Cyber Crimes Investigation Program and examines the following topics: - Searches for domains and IP numbers - Criminal use of the internet and digital communications - E-mail analysis and reading of electronic headers - Re-mailers and techniques for concealing your IP - Techniques for concealing electronic communications through encryption and Steganography - Terrorism protection techniques used by law enforcement - Use of wireless cameras and listening devices - Documenting a cyber crime investigation PLEASE NOTE: Students attending this program must have a basic understanding of how web-based e-mails are sent, along with the ability to download documents and picture files off the web. This course has been submitted for Terrorism Task Force grant funding through the Executive Institute of the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board. If approved, tuition fees will be waived. This course has been certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board. It is not reimbursable by the ILETSB. Cancellations must be received by NEMRT 35 days prior to the start of class order to avoid being billed.
