This course is primarily a refresher for officers and is designed to assist them in identifying fraudulent, fictitious, and/or unlawfully altered driver's licenses and I.D. cards currently in circulation. These fake I.D.s are used by a wide range of criminals - from bad check artists to welfare cheats, chronic drunk drivers, illegal aliens, underage drinkers/drivers, and career criminals. This course addresses current changes in fraudulent license alteration techniques and serves as a refresher for those licenses and identification cards currently in circulation, Topics to be addressed include: - Update on criminal laws and penalties for various violations - Feature and procedure review for proper identification of persons - Special enhanced penalties offered through the S.O.S.'s office - Other government documents police may find used in fraud - Current changes regarding holograms, colors and codes - Changes including credit card formats with LEADS compatibility - Tips on facial examinations and comparisons This course has been certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board and is not reimbursable by the ILETSB.
