This program is designed to keep School Resource, Juvenile, and Crime Prevention Officers on the cutting edge of technology when preparing internet safety presentations for students and parents. Attendees will be given effective, vital information regarding the investigation of computer crime so they can logically transfer this knowledge to students and parents during community presentations on issues related to cyber-bullying, predators, sexting, social networks, and much more. Topics to be addressed include the following: - Basic investigative principles of internet crimes - Illinois Cyberstalking laws and pending legislation - The DARE2KNOW Program: Protecting children from drug use, including home drug testing and the monitoring of cell phone and computer use - Using SnagitŪ software as a presentation tool Program attendees will be supplied with basic PowerPoint presentations that have been developed for children in grades 6-12 and their parents. Additionally, each will prepare and deliver sample presentations to his/her classmates on the topics covered in class. This course has been certified through the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board. It is not reimbursable by the ILETSB. **Cancellations must be received by NEMRT 35 days prior to the start of class order to avoid being billed.**
