Close Quarter Battle (CQB) can be roughly defined as the engagement of deadly force combat at short ranges at which threat and non-threat targets are in tight proximity, if not intermingled.  CQB methods, while usually considered the domain of SWAT personnel, are in fact more likely to be utilized by patrol officers during routine operations.  Indeed, patrol regularly engages in activity leading to CQB shootings, including but not limited to alarms, burglaries, home invasion calls, and armed subject calls.  

This instructor-level program has been designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to build patrol CQB programs for their respective agencies.  Topics to be addressed include:

- Differentiating between SWAT and Patrol CQB
- The fundamentals of 2 and 3 person CQB
- Training strategies for teaching CQB to patrol personnel for patrol functions
- The importance of proper tactics, techniques, and procedures 
- Transitioning between different training platforms and real world application
- Conducting live-fire CQB exercises at each stage of training 
- Evaluating firearm proficiency needed for CQB training programs
- Achieving training goals without having access to high-dollar facilities

PLEASE NOTE - Students should bring the following equipment to class:

- 300 rounds of handgun ammo (factory or reload)
- Duty weapon
- Holster and duty rig
- Body armor (soft or plate carrier)
- Pen and notebook

Course may be conducted on an outdoor range – please be sure to dress accordingly
