This program has been designed for evidence technicians, vault custodians, and detectives and will examine methods for locating, identifying, documenting, collecting, and submitting firearms, DNA, and tool mark evidence to a crime laboratory. Participants will complete practical exercises in the above disciplines and conclude with courtroom scenarios requiring mock testimony and cross-examination "on the stand" regarding evidence they collected at the crime scene. ATTENDEES MUST BRING THEIR DEPARTMENT'S DIGITAL CAMERA, FLASH, MEMORY CARD, & INSTRUCTION MANUAL TO CLASS. **The subject matter of this course falls within the key training guidelines for the in-service training requirements for Lead Homicide Investigator.** This course has been certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board and is not reimbursable by the ILETSB.
