This 16 hour program is the first in a three-part series of cyber terrorism courses developed by Mr. Hale Guyer.  It has been designed to teach all law enforcement officers - regardless of prior computer knowledge - how cyber terrorists/criminals utilize the internet in the commission of crimes.  

Topics to be addressed in this program include the following:

- What constitutes cyber terrorism/cyber crime
- Different forms of cyber terrorism/cyber crime
- Where cyber evidence may be obtained
- Personal and infrastructure vulnerabilities
- Intrusion methods
- Various forms of attack software
- Methods for hiding in the web
- "Carding" and credit card fraud
- Protecting yourself and others from a cyber attack
- How social engineering and data mining for information is accomplished
- Recognizing computer intrusion
- Methods for protecting yourself and the public from being victimized
- Basic procedures to use when investigating these types of crimes

This course has been approved for Terrorism Task Force grant funding through the Executive Institute of the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board.  

This course has been certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board.  Please note it is not reimbursable by the ILETSB.
