NEMRT is pleased to provide area law enforcement professionals the opportunity to participate in this one day course taught by the nation’s preeminent public safety risk management authority, Mr. Gordon Graham. Through his customary, highly-engaging presentation style, Mr. Graham will address the following topical areas: Civil Liability for Public or Private Safety Organizations: This is a legal/risk management approach to the elimination of civil liability through pre-incident planning and post incident documentation. It also contains a section on recognizing incidents that regularly end up in litigation and what management and supervision needs to do before our lawyers get the case. Attendees will receive a copy of GRECL, Graham's Rules for the Elimination of Civil Liability. Threshold Incident Tracking - Day One through Trial: An in-depth look at how plaintiff lawyers use the gap between the date of an incident and the service of a lawsuit on a public safety agency to hurt them in court. It also shows the role of management, supervision, and line personnel in preventing this harm. The Top Ten Things that get Cops in Trouble: The title speaks for itself. This program will identify the top ten things that get your department personnel in trouble. Gordon Graham is a 33 year veteran of California Law Enforcement. His education as a Risk Manager and experience as a practicing Attorney, coupled with his extensive background in law enforcement, have allowed him to rapidly become recognized as a leading professional speaker in both private and public sector organizations with multiple areas of expertise. His innovative programs are the standard for any organization that wants to improve existing operations and prevent things from going wrong.
