Child Sexual Abuse

CRITICALLY IMPORTANT POINT! Absolutely NO victim interviews should be done until the law enforcement officer has coordinated with their county State’s Attorney’s office to ensure that proper protocol is followed!

Some counties require videotaping of all interviews. Others require cases to be turned over entirely to task forces dedicated to such investigations. Many State’s Attorney’s offices refuse to prosecute cases if protocol is not followed.

Again, it is the responsibility of each officer to know and apply their respective county’s juvenile processing procedure. Contact information for each county’s State’s Attorney’s office can be accessed by clicking on the RESOURCES tab on the left side of the program screen.
