UNIT II - ABUSED, NEGLECTED, OR DEPENDENT MINORS (ARTICLE II, 705 ILCS 405/2)
L. Order of Protection (705 ILCS 405/2-24): During Adjudication and/or Probable Cause Hearings, the court has authority to issue an Order of Protection under this Section 2-25. These orders are based upon the health, safety, and best interests of the minor and establish reasonable conditions of behavior that must be observed for specified periods of time. Orders of Protection may require a person to:
- Stay away from a minor or his/her home
- Visit a minor at stated periods.
- Abstain from offensive conduct against the minor, his/her parent, or custodian.
- Give proper attention to the care of the home
- Cooperate in good faith with any agency entrusted with custody of a minor.
- Prohibit and prevent any contact whatsoever with a minor by a specified individual(s) who are alleged to have caused injury to a minor or his/her sibling(s).
- Refrain from acts of commission or omission that make the home an inappropriate place for the minor.
