UNIT IV - ADDICTED MINORS (ARTICLE 4 - 705 ILCS 405/4)
The objective of this unit is to provide Juvenile Officers with a brief overview of Article IV of the Juvenile Court Act as it relates to law enforcement's exposure to minors who may be addicted to drugs or alcohol.
Students will examine the legal criteria for the 'Addicted Minor' designation, as well as the requirements for taking such minors into custody. Services provided by the juvenile court system will also be reviewed.
