D. Parental Responsibility (705 ILCS 405/5-110):
The Juvenile Court Act recognizes the critical role families play in the rehabilitation of delinquent juveniles. Parents, guardians, and legal custodians shall participate in the assessment and treatment of juvenile offenders by assisting them in recognizing and accepting responsibility for their delinquent behavior. The court may order parents, guardians, or custodians to take certain actions or refrain from others when assisting such juveniles.
E. Rights of Victims (705 ILCS 405/5-115):
In all proceedings under this Article, victims will have the same rights of victims in criminal proceedings as provided in the Bill of Rights for Children (725 ILCS 115) and the Rights of Crime Victims and Witnesses Act (725 ILCS 120). Many programs assisting victims are administered through the Illinois Attorney General's Office.
