Child Physical Abuse
Children in early adolescence, a period characterized by growing levels of rebellion, are the second most likely group to be abused. Young teenagers push already stressed parents to their breaking points and abuse results.
Children with physical or mental handicaps are also at high risk for abuse due to the extraordinary challenges faced by parents of special needs children. Hyperactive or over-emotional children are also at higher risk for abuse.
